1. Overview
Dennis Nokes is a small independent UK shop for trail cameras, garden wildlife cameras, 4G field cameras and related outdoor monitoring accessories.
The website currently works as a product information and preliminary order website. This means that customers can send a request, reserve a product or ask a manager to confirm availability before completing a purchase.
2. Preliminary order and reservation requests
When you submit a request through the website, you are asking Dennis Nokes to contact you about the selected product or camera kit. This may include a garden camera, night vision camera, 4G field camera, solar bundle, memory card, mounting strap, security box or another accessory.
A preliminary order or reservation request is not the same as a confirmed order. It does not guarantee stock, delivery date or final price until a manager has confirmed the details with you.
You may withdraw a preliminary request before confirmation by contacting us by email or phone.
3. When an order becomes confirmed
An order normally becomes confirmed only after Dennis Nokes has contacted you and confirmed:
- the product or bundle you want to order;
- current stock availability;
- the final price;
- delivery costs, if any;
- the delivery address;
- the expected delivery method or timescale;
- the payment method or payment instructions.
After confirmation, you should receive the agreed order details in a durable form, such as email or another written format that you can keep.
4. Payment
Dennis Nokes does not currently process direct checkout payments through the website. Payment instructions, available payment methods and any required deposit or full payment will be confirmed by a manager before the order is completed.
You should not send payment card details, bank passwords or sensitive financial information through a normal website contact form, email message or live chat.
If payment is taken after the manager confirms the order, the cancellation and refund sections below will apply according to your consumer rights and the condition of the returned goods.
5. Delivery
Delivery options and costs will be confirmed before the order is completed. The available delivery method may depend on the product size, stock location, destination and courier service.
Unless a different delivery period is agreed with you, goods should normally be delivered within a reasonable time and within the period required by applicable UK distance selling rules.
You are responsible for giving a complete and accurate delivery address. Dennis Nokes is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect addresses, missed courier attempts, restricted access, courier disruption or events outside our reasonable control.
| Delivery point | How it works |
|---|---|
| Delivery area | United Kingdom, unless otherwise confirmed by the manager. |
| Delivery cost | Confirmed before payment or final order confirmation. |
| Delivery timescale | Estimated before confirmation and may vary depending on stock and courier availability. |
| Address accuracy | The customer must provide a correct and complete delivery address. |
6. Checking your goods after delivery
Please check your delivery as soon as reasonably possible after it arrives. Make sure the product matches the order confirmation and that accessories such as straps, memory cards, solar panels, cables or mounting parts are present where they were included.
If the parcel appears damaged, take clear photos of the packaging before opening it and keep the packaging until the issue has been resolved.
7. Consumer cancellation rights
If you buy as a consumer after a distance order is confirmed, you may usually cancel your order within 14 days after receiving the goods. You do not normally need to give a reason.
After telling us that you wish to cancel, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
Cancellation rights apply to confirmed purchases. They do not need to be used for a preliminary request that has not yet been confirmed, because you can simply ask us to close or ignore the request before an order is completed.
8. Returning items
Returned items should be sent back safely packaged and, where reasonably possible, with original packaging, manuals, accessories and any included parts.
You may inspect the goods in the same way you would normally inspect them in a shop. However, using a camera outdoors for a full deployment, marking it, damaging it, losing accessories or returning it in poor condition may reduce the refund amount.
| Return condition | Refund position |
|---|---|
| Unused and complete | Normally eligible for a full refund after cancellation, subject to return checks. |
| Opened for inspection | Usually acceptable if the item is complete, clean and not damaged. |
| Used outdoors or damaged | A deduction may be made if handling goes beyond reasonable inspection. |
| Missing accessories | A deduction may be made for missing straps, cables, cards, brackets or other included parts. |
9. Refunds
Where a refund is due after a valid cancellation, Dennis Nokes will normally refund the amount paid for the returned goods after receiving the goods back or after receiving suitable evidence that you have returned them.
Refunds should normally be processed within 14 days after the returned goods are received, or within the legally required period.
If you paid for standard delivery, the standard delivery cost may also be refunded where required by law. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, only the standard delivery amount may be refundable.
Return postage costs are normally the customer’s responsibility unless the goods are faulty, not as described, damaged on arrival, or Dennis Nokes has agreed otherwise in writing.
10. Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If your item is faulty, damaged on arrival or not as described, contact us as soon as possible. Please include your name, order details, a short description of the issue and clear photos or video where helpful.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this policy. Depending on the issue and the time since delivery, we may offer a repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate solution.
11. Items that may not be returnable in the usual way
Some items may not be returnable in the same way as standard products, depending on their nature, condition or how they were supplied. This may include:
- custom-made or specially ordered items;
- items clearly personalised for the customer;
- sealed digital storage or software-type items once unsealed, where applicable;
- items damaged by misuse, poor installation or unsuitable outdoor placement;
- batteries, memory cards or accessories that are missing, damaged or not returned with the product.
Any specific exception should be explained before the order is confirmed where it applies to your purchase.
12. Business customers
If you order as a business, farm, estate, organisation or professional buyer, different return rules may apply. Business purchases may not have the same cancellation rights as consumer distance purchases unless agreed in writing.
Any business order terms should be confirmed before the order is completed.
13. Changes to this policy
Dennis Nokes may update this Delivery & Returns Policy when shop functionality, delivery arrangements, product ranges or manager-led order processes change.
The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date shown above.
